मैं इस लेख की शुरुआत Mr. Manoj के एक सवाल का उत्तर देते हुए करता हूँ। Mr. Manoj ji ने पूछा था कि Naman ji ब्लॉगर्स किस तरह एडसेंस के ज़रिए हज़ारों डॉलर्स कमाते हैं? इसके कई कारण हैं कि Naman Ji की तरह कई ब्लॉगर्स बहुत सफलता के साथ एडसेंस प्रयोग कर रहे हैं। विश्व में कई ब्लॉगर्स तो ऐसे हैं जो एडसेंस को अपने ब्लॉग पर लगाकर इतना धन कमाते हैं कि आप सोच भी नहीं सकते कि ब्लॉगिंग से इतनी कमाई संभव है। अमित की सफलता के पीछे कई कारण हैं जिनकी चर्चा मैं आगे इस लेखमाला में करूंगा। लेकिन सबसे प्रमुख कारण तो बहुत ही स्पष्ट है; और वो ये कि Naman Ji के पास एक विशाल पाठक वर्ग है। एक लाख से अधिक लोग तो फ़ीडबर्नर के ज़रिए उनका फ़ीड सबस्क्राइब करते हैं।  
हिन्दी के किसी भी ब्लॉग के पास इतनी बड़ी संख्या में सब्सक्राइबर्स नहीं हैं। यदि किसी हिन्दी ब्लॉग का सब्सक्राइबर आंकड़ा एक हज़ार के पार पहुँच जाता है तो उस ब्लॉग को बेहद लोकप्रिय मान लिया जाता है।
एक और बात है; जो कि कड़वी सच्चाई है; ये है कि हिन्दी ब्लॉगिंग में अच्छे पाठकों की भी बहुत कमी है। अभी भी हिन्दी ब्लॉगिंग में टिप्पणियों का लेन-देन इतना हावी है कि गंभीर “पाठक” जैसा कोई वर्ग शायद है ही नहीं –और अगर है तो यह वर्ग बहुत ही छोटा है। हिन्दी ब्लॉगिंग अभी भी बहुत अधिक “टिप्पणी केंद्रित” है। यह एक मूल कारण है कि क्यों हिन्दी ब्लॉग्स सब्सक्राइब करने वाले लोगों की संख्या कम हैं। आपमें से बहुत से लोग मेरी इस बात से शायद सहमत नहीं होंगे –पर मेरा मानना है कि इस बिंदु पर विचार ज़रूर किया जाना चाहिए। ख़ैर, हम वापस गूगल एडसेंस पर आते हैं। अब मैं वो अकेला सबसे बड़ा कारण बताता हूँ जिसकी वजह से एडसेंस हिन्दी ब्लॉगिंग में अब तक सफल नहीं रहा है। कारण यह है कि गूगल एडसेंस हिन्दी भाषा को अभी तक भी समर्थन नहीं देता! इसका क्या आशय है? इसका अर्थ यह है कि आप किसी हिन्दी वेबसाइट के लिए एडसेंस का आवेदन नहीं कर सकते –यदि आप करेंगे तो आपका आवेदन निश्चित-रूप से अस्वीकार कर दिया जाएगा। हाँ आप अपनी किसी अंग्रेज़ी वेबसाइट के ज़रिये एडसेंस लेकर उसे हिन्दी वेबसाइट पर ज़रूर प्रयोग कर सकते हैं। जैसा कि मैनें अपने पिछले लेख में बताया था; गूगल की सफलता के पीछे बहुत बड़ा हाथ उसकी इस क्षमता का रहा है कि गूगल प्रासंगिक विज्ञापन दिखाता है। क्रिकेट से संबंधित सामग्री वाली वेबसाइट पर गूगल क्रिकेट से संबंधित विज्ञापन ही भेजता है। लेकिन अभी गूगल के पास इतने हिन्दी विज्ञापनदाता नहीं हैं कि वह हिन्दी भाषा को समर्थन देना आरम्भ कर सके। भारत की कम्पनियाँ भी अधिकांश विज्ञापन अंग्रेज़ी में ही देती हैं। हालाँकि बहुत धीरे-धीरे ही सही पर यह स्थिति बदल ज़रूर रही है; लेकिन वर्तमान स्थिति का असर यह है कि गूगल के पास “Cricket” शब्द के प्रसंग में तो दिखाने के लिए विज्ञापन होते हैं लेकिन “क्रिकेट” के लिए नहीं! यह सवाल भी पूछा जा सकता है कि “क्रिकेट” से संबंधित सामग्री वाली किसी ब्लॉग पोस्ट पर गूगल “Cricket” वाले विज्ञापन क्यों नहीं दिखा देता? हम इतने अनपढ़ भी नहीं कि “Cricket” ना समझ सकें! भारतीय लोग तो क्रिकेट को किसी भी भाषा में समझ लेते हैं! यह सवाल ठीक है; लेकिन याद रखिए कि गूगल बिज़नेस करने वाली कम्पनी है। वह अभी अपने संसाधनों को इस तरह के जुए में नहीं लगाना चाहती। कुल मिलाकर नतीजा यह होता है कि अगर आपने किसी अंग्रेज़ी सामग्री वाली वेबसाइट के ज़रिये एडसेंस हांसिल करके उसे अपनी हिन्दी वेबसाइट पर लगाया तो आपको कोई अधिक लाभ नहीं होगा। आपकी हिन्दी वेबसाइट पर इतने (और काम के) विज्ञापन आएंगे ही नहीं कि कोई पाठक उन पर क्लिक करना चाहे। बात क्लिक्स की आ गई है तो मैं यह भी बता दूँ कि ऐसा नहीं है कि एडसेंस के ज़रिये आय केवल क्लिक होने पर ही होती है। हर बार जब कोई एडसेंस विज्ञापन आपकी साइट पर दिखता है तो उससे भी आपको आय होती है –लेकिन यह आय इतनी कम होती है कि इसका असर आपको केवल तब महसूस होगा जबकि आपकी साइट के पन्नें लाखों बार देखे जाते हों। इसलिए मूलत: एडसेंस से आय का ज़रिया पाठकों द्वारा विज्ञापनों पर किए गए क्लिक्स ही हैं। अमित अग्रवाल के आर्थिक रूप से एक सफल ब्लॉगर बनने के पीछे एक बड़ा कारण यह भी है कि वे अंग्रेज़ी में लिखते हैं और एक ऐसे विषय के बारे में लिखते हैं जिसकी इंटरनेट पर बहुत मांग है। थोड़ा और आगे बढ़ते हैं। अभी तो हिन्दी की वेबसाइट्स एडसेंस का वैसा लाभ नहीं उठा सकतीं जैसा कि अंग्रेज़ी वेबसाइट्स उठाती हैं –लेकिन ऐसा भी नहीं है कि आप एडसेंस से बिल्कुल भी आय हांसिल नहीं कर सकते। हिन्दी में भी कुछ ब्लॉगर्स ऐसे हैं जो एडसेंस के ज़रिए ठीक-ठाक आय कर रहे हैं। पर इसके लिए वे बहुत मेहनत करते हैं। एडसेंस के ज़रिए आय के लिए लगातार, बहुत सारी और अच्छी पाठ्य सामग्री का आपके ब्लॉग पर आते रहना बेहद आवश्यक है।

एक अच्छे ब्लॉग की ज़रूरतें

पिछले एक-दो दिनों से मैं देख रहा हूँ कि हिन्दी ब्लोग्स में गूगल के सिर्फ सार्वजनिक सेवा विज्ञापन ही प्रकाशित हो रहे हैं। तो क्या अब गूगल ने हिन्दी ब्लोग्स में सिर्फ अपने सार्वजनिक सेवा विज्ञापन ही दिखाने की ठान ली है? एक तो हिन्दी ब्लोग्स के एडसेंस विज्ञापनों पर क्लिक करने वालों की संख्या ही नगण्य है। ले दे कर यदि कभी-कभार कुछ सेंट की कमाई हो भी जाती थी तो सार्वजनिक सेवा विज्ञापनों से वह भी बंद हो जायेगा। या फिर गूगल चुपचाप अपने तकनीक में कोई बड़ा परिवर्तन कर रहा है ताकि हिन्दी ब्लोग्स में हिन्दी शब्दों अंग्रेजी अनुवाद वाले शब्दों के अनुरूप विज्ञापन प्रकाशित हो सकें। चूँकि गूगल का स्वभाव हमेशा लोगों को विस्मित कर (surprise) देने का रहा है, यही लग रहा है कि अवश्य ही गूगल अपने तकनीक में कोई बड़ा परिवर्तन कर रहा है। हिन्दी ब्लोग्स से कमाई का एक और उपाय हिन्दी ब्लोग्स से कमाई का एक और उपाय है अपने ब्लोग में एफिलियेट विज्ञापन प्रदर्शित करना। लोग आपके एफिलियेट विज्ञापन को क्लिक कर के विज्ञापनदाता से यदि उनके उत्पाद या सेवाएँ खरीदते हैं तो कमीशन के रूप में आपकी भी कमाई होती है। वैसे तो अमेजान, क्लिक बैंक, पेडॉटकाम को सबसे अच्छा एफिलियेट प्रोग्राम्स माना जाता है क्योंकि इनमें कमाई अधिक होती है। किन्तु ये सभी प्रोग्राम्स हिन्दी ब्लोग्स के लिये उपयुक्त नहीं है क्योंकि इन प्रोग्राम्स में भारतीय उत्पादों और सेवाओं का स्थान नहीं के बराबर है। हाँ, शादी.कॉम, मैत्री.कॉम जैसे मैट्रिमोनियल एफिलियेट्स प्रोग्राम्स से कुछ कमाई होने की उम्मीद की जा सकती है। मैनें dgmpro.com के एफिलियेट प्रोग्राम्स को हिन्दी ब्लोग्स/वेबसाइट्स के लिये अधिक उपयुक्त पाया है क्योंकि वहाँ पर भारत देश के लिये एक अलग ही विभाग है जिसके अंतर्गत एयर बुकिंग, होटल बुकिंग, इन्डियन शॉपिंग आदि एफिलियेट्स प्रोग्राम्स हैं जो भारतीय पाठकों को अधिक आकर्षित करते है। यात्रा, मेकमाइट्रिप, एयरटेल, रेडिफ, सिफी आदि एफिलेट कार्यक्रम, जो भारतीयों में अधिक लोकप्रिय है, dgmpro के अंतर्गत आते है। पिछले कुछ समय से मैं अपने हिन्दी ट्युटोरियल वेबसाइट में उपरोक्त इन एफिलियेट विज्ञापनों को प्रदर्शित कर रहा हूं और उनसे अधिक नहीं पर कुछ तो कमाई हो रही है।

इंटरनेट का बादशाह समझे जाने वाला गूगल क्या अपने पैरों पर खुद ही कुल्हाड़ी मार रहा है? यदि एक तरह से देखें तो ऐसा ही है क्योंकि गूगल का एक उत्पाद गूगल को ही कमाई देने वाले सबसे बड़े प्रोग्राम को ब्लॉक करने को प्रोत्साहन दे रहा है. सभी जानते हैं कि गूगल की कमाई का मुख्य स्रोत गूगल एडसेंस द्वारा प्रकाशित किए जाने वाले विज्ञापन है. गूगल एडसेंस के माध्यम से खोज नतीजों के पास तथा अन्य थर्ड पार्टी वेबसाइटों पर विज्ञापन प्रकाशित करता है और उन विज्ञापनों के माध्यम से उसे अच्छी खासी कमाई होती है. लेकिन इंटरनेट प्रयोक्ता यदि चाहें तो इन विज्ञापनों को ब्लॉक कर सकते हैं बशर्ते वे फायरफोक्स ब्राउजर का उपयोग कर रहे हों. फायरफोक्स ब्राउजर हजारों एड ऑन प्लगइन को समर्थन देता है और निजी प्रोग्रामर कई तरह की अप्लिकेशनें बनाकर फायरफोक्स को और भी बेहतर बना रहे हैं. ऐसी ही एक अप्लिकेशन है एड-ब्लॉकर जो गूगल सहित कई एड नेटवर्कों से आ रहे विज्ञापनो को रोक देती है. अब फायरफोक्स की देखादेखी गूगल ने भी क्रोम ब्राउज़र के लिए अप्लिकेशनें बनाने की छूट दे दी है और क्रोम अप्लिकेशनों का भी भंडार लगना शुरू हो गया है. यदि आप क्रोम एडऑन अप्लिकेशनों की सूची पर नजर दौड़ाएंगे तो पाएंगे कि सबसे लोकप्रिय अप्लिकेशनों की सूची में दूसरे नम्बर पर है एड-थॉड और उससे कुछ नीचे है एड-ब्लॉक. इन दोनों अप्लिकेशनों को जोड़ देने से आपके क्रोम ब्राउजर पर गूगल विज्ञापन प्रदर्शित होना बंद हो जाएंगे. लेकिन गूगल ने इन अप्लिकेशनों को क्यों जोड़ा? गूगल के लिए तो यह आत्मघाती कदम है. फिर भी गूगल ने इन अप्लिकेशनों को क्रोम एडऑन की सूची में जोड़ा. दरअसल गूगल फिलहाल इससे चिंतित नहीं है. क्रोम अभी भी “स्टेबल” नहीं है और काफी कम लोग इसका उपयोग करते हैं. गूगल का मुख्य उद्देश्य क्रोम के प्रयोक्ताओं की संख्या बढाना है. दूसरी तरह एड-थॉड जैसी अप्लिकेशन भले ही लोकप्रियता की सूची में दूसरे नम्बर पर हो परंतु फिर भी उसके उपयोगकर्ता काफी कम ही होंगें. गूगल के एक इंजीनियर ने एक समारोह में कहा कि काफी कम लोग होंगे जो गूगल के विज्ञापनों को ब्लॉक करना चाहेंगे. इसलिए हाल फिलहाल ऐसी अप्लिकेशनों से कोई खतरा नहीं

The website owner can devote himself to publishing content and advertise the site itself without worrying about buyers or shipping products.
• In some cases, Adsense can be a significant source of income. Some website owners can earn good money with this affiliate program. Of course this type of income is very difficult to achieve (unless you have a network with multiple sites and many visitors).
• Almost anyone can sign up for Adsense. The program is free and even those who do not have the resources or expertise to create their own website, can create a free blog on blogspot.
• Google allows you to block ads that you do not want to display on your pages (for example those of your competitors).

Disadvantages of  ADSENSE:

• Your website needs to have quality content to succeed with Adsense. So it is not recommended for those with no time to write or have no aptitude for writing.
• If you are using Youtube. You need to own all the content of the video( including the music ).
• Once the user clicks the Adsense ad, it will be sent to the advertiser’s site and leave your site ( the advertisement does not open in a new window). This can lead to lost revenue.
